Okay guys — I have to warn you; you are 100% going to catch baby fever by viewing Bree & Matt Overton’s newborn session for their little girl, Tru. I shot it for them back in April, and it has ended up being the perfect example of the kind of style I love most for this milestone.

While there are tons of different styles of newborn photography, we focused on a lifestyle approach for them! Mom and Dad wanted to keep the shoot as easy as possible; they had me out to their home, only shot in one outfit, and really emphasized not overly posing anything. Their goal was to keep it chill and capture very clean, simple shots of their baby girl in their family’s natural environment.

So genuine.
So effortless.
No stress.

This is my personal recipe for newborn session success. Anytime new parents ask me how to structure their babe’s shoot, I’ll be sharing this! There’s no need to fuss or overly complicate the moment: just let me come and get beautiful portraits of your and your little one while they’re brand new, so that you can keep these precious memories forever.

All of that aside, a very important footnote: Tru has the most hair that I’ve ever personally seen on a newborn baby, and it quite literally hurts my ovaries. She is absolutely perfect.
