JOSH + SARAH // A CULTURALLY RICH WEDDING AT NY BOTANICAL GARDENS // BRONX, NY

As 2021 comes to a close and I brace myself for the new year, I’ve been looking back at all the gorgeous places and faces I’ve seen over the last twelve months. Every love story I get to bear witness to is special in its own way, but Josh + Sarah Ayal’s wedding in NYC really took everything to new heights.

Following a decade long romance, their big day was probably one of the most stunning and culturally rich events I’ve ever been a part of. These lovebirds flawlessly blended their individual family heritages into everything, with beautiful Jewish customs for Josh and Scottish traditions for Sarah.

The wedding party got dressed and ready at The William Hotel before heading over to The New York Botanical Gardens (!!!) in the Bronx for the ceremony. There were kilts, bagpipes, a traditional Jewish dance called a hora, flower crowns [called krenzels as part of the mezinke tanz], and the bride [who made their invites + menus herself!] even wore her grandmother’s wedding wreath at the reception.

Between all of that and the outrageously sweet dynamic between the bride and groom, it was all *truly* a photographer’s dream — keep scrolling to see some of my favorite shots!
